Online Group Classes | Choose Your Level

Beginner classes

Designed for students with no prior knowledge of the language, this course teaches students how to communicate in simple everyday situations. While the emphasis of the course is on developing speaking proficiency, it also introduces basic grammar concepts and teaches beginning reading skills. Upon completion of the course students will be able to participate in simple and routine daily interactions such as greetings, introducing oneself, and setting plans with others.

Schedule: Tue/Thu 6:00 – 7:40 pm

Prerequisite: None

Intermediate classes

Designed for students with a solid knowledge of basic grammar concepts and the ability to conduct conversations on familiar topics. Students will be introduced to additional verb tenses and increasingly complex structures (resultative complements, adjective reduplication). Upon completion of the course, students will be able to comment on the weather, order food at a restaurant with great detail, give directions with accurate language, etc.

Schedule: Mon/Wed 6:00 – 7:40 pm

Prerequisite: Beginner III

Advanced classes

The Contemporary Topics course is designed for students who speak Chinese at a High Intermediate to Mid Advanced level. Classes focus on improving fluency and conversational skills, expanding vocabulary on advanced topics, refining pronunciation, and fine-tuning grammar. Students will read authentic media and participate in discussions on topics related to current events and Chinese culture. Contemporary Topics courses are ideal language maintenance and can be taken multiple times as topics will change each session.

Intermediate III or must speak the language an an Intermediate High to Advanced Mid level.
