Student Learning Outcomes, Online Arabic Group Classes
Designed for students with some prior knowledge of the language, this course builds on the topics and communication skills taught in Beginner I. While the emphasis of the course is on developing speaking proficiency, it continues to introduce basic grammar concepts and teaches beginning reading skills. Upon completion of the course students will be able to participate in simple conversations while traveling, at work or during leisure time. Students will also be able to understand basic information intended for tourists.
Designed for students with a basic knowledge of the language, this course focuses on the development of fluency. Students will expand their ability to carry out simple conversations on a limited range of topics. Previous grammar concepts are reviewed (including review of preterite, preterite vs. imperfect), and more complicated structures (including present perfect, conditional, and subjunctive) are introduced in context. Upon completion of the course students will be able to initiate and maintain predictable conversations and understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters.
The Contemporary Topics course is designed for students who speak Arabic at a High Intermediate to Mid Advanced level. Classes focus on improving fluency and conversational skills, expanding vocabulary on advanced topics, refining pronunciation, and fine-tuning grammar. Students will read authentic media and participate in discussions on topics related to current events and cultures of the Arabic-speaking world. Contemporary Topics courses are ideal language maintenance and can be taken multiple times as topics will change each session.

"I love Wafaa! She explains everything very well and has very useful exercises to apply what we have learned. 11/10 would recommend taking her class to someone!"
Beginner I Student"Abdul is great at introducing important grammar in a logical way that makes it easier to understand. This class was supposed to serve as a refresher for me, but I’m being reintroduced to concepts I’ve seen before in a new way that is productive and helps it sink in."
Beginner II Student“I loved my instructor and would like to work with her again! She was mindful of all of our different backgrounds with the language, and made use of materials that made the most sense for our class.”
