Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take employees to see results from language training?

Language learners will see results starting with the first class session. After one class, even a total beginner will learn basic greetings and simple introductions in most languages to help them make a good first impression. Our experienced instructors will consider each employee's goals, along with the demands of their job in the target language, and they will advise learners on the length of study needed to reach those goals. Different languages require different time commitments to reach certain proficiency levels, but our staff and teachers can provide expert recommendations for realistic course timelines.

How are sessions delivered?
All corporate programs are available fully online via video conferencing. In-person sessions are available at our Washington, DC facility or at your office location. Hybrid arrangements are also possible.
How do you track and report on employee progress?
For each course, we create a course page in Canvas (our Learning Management System) where the instructor keeps attendance, assigns homework, and grades quizzes and other assessments. For many groups and government agencies, our instructors and language coordinators complete monthly progress reports for each student, noting strengths, focus areas for the next month, estimated proficiency levels, and feedback on students' participation and motivation. Progress report format and timing can be customized to fit the needs of each company.
Can you train employees across multiple locations or time zones?
Yes. Our fully online delivery makes it straightforward to run programs for distributed teams — including international locations. We'll work around time zones in the scheduling phase.
Can you customize the program for our specific industry or company?
Yes — customization is the default, not an add-on. Before any program begins, we conduct a needs assessment to understand your team's current proficiency, goals, industry context, and scheduling constraints. The curriculum is built from there.
How quickly can a program start?
We can usually get you started within 1–2 weeks of applying.
What languages do you offer for corporate training?
We offer corporate language training in 85+ languages, including Spanish, Business English, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, Dari, Pashto, and many more. If you need a language, we almost certainly have a qualified instructor for it.
What is the minimum / maximum team size for corporate training?
We accept groups of 2 to 12 students. For the best balance of cost and quality, we recommend keeping classes of 4–8 students.
