Can I Do an Internship in the USA? WIN Spotlight: Alberto Dávila

ICLS’ WIN the USA Intern & Trainee Exchange Program proudly spotlights its hard working interns who are driven to accomplish great things in their internships in the USA. Today, we are thrilled to share Alberto’s experience in his exchange program with the ICLS family.

My name is Alberto Fernández Dávila; I am from Galicia, Spain, and I am completing my internship at Engel & Völkers in the Napa Valley, California.

Right after graduating with a degree in Direction and Public Management, I felt that pushing myself to leave the comfort zone by applying to internships in USA would be the right step in starting my professional career in Marketing and Business. And I was right – this experience is unlike any other I have ever had before.

The amount of training and knowledge that this experience is giving me is something that I love; from day one the program aimed to not only advance the knowledge that I had acquired at university, but also boost and develop new professional skills. In addition, cultural immersion has pushed me to grow and mature. I’m enjoying new things, culture, and people at the same time as my training. I have already spent more than 7 months in this country and it still surprises me every day.

Sometimes life far away from home can be difficult, but at the same time, I believe that an experience like this prepares you for the future – developing real world attributes that you won’t get in another situation in your home country.

I would highly recommend to all global youth that would like to improve their odds to achieve a successful career, improve their English learning through American business culture, and experience the lifestyle and all the possible fun that this country offers by taking the step through internships in USA!
