WIN in the USA Program

The ICLS Washington Internship Network (WIN) offers a unique program – a combination of intensive language instruction, customized orientation workshops on US business industry and internships at Washington DC-based organizations. The “WIN in the USA” formula ensures a successful internship experience that sets participants on a path towards achieving personal and professional goals.

ICLS is designated by the United States Department of State to promote its Exchange Visitor Program in the TRAINEE and INTERN categories through WIN in the USA Program.

Purpose

The Exchange Visitor Program promotes mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by educational and cultural exchanges. Participants must return to their home country to share their knowledge and US experience after they complete their training.

Arts and Culture; Business, Management, Commerce, and Finance; The Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Architecture, and Industrial Occupations; Hospitality and Tourism; Information Media and Communications; Public Administration and Law; Education and Social Sciences;

Services

  • Intern/Trainee skills assessment and placement services
  • English proficiency assessment
  • Intensive English Program, Business English and Professional English courses
  • Assisting in creating customized Internship and Training Placement Plan (DS-7002)
  • Issuing DS-2019 Certificate of Eligibility for obtaining a J-1 visa
  • Guidance regarding SEVIS Fee payments and scheduling visa interview appointments
  • Regular monitoring and support to interns and trainees throughout their programs

INTERN program is designed for foreign college and university students and recent graduates to come to the United States to gain exposure to US culture and to receive hands-on experience in American business practices in their chosen occupational field.

TRAINEE program is designed for foreign professionals to come to the United States to gain exposure to US culture and to receive training in American business practices in their chosen occupational field.

Benefits of Practical Experience

Interns have an opportunity to test their recently acquired knowledge in practice. The program bridges the gap between formal education and practical work experience.

Trainees have an opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in their academic or occupational fields through participation in a structured and guided training-based program.
